THE POWER OF OPPOSITES.
Ducati renews the XDiavel range by introducing the new version for 2023: the XDiavel Dark. XDiavel, the Ducati cruiser that combines the best of both worlds, is renewed, still remaining true to its philosophy. The new XDiavel Dark comes in matte black to further enhance the strengths of the XDiavel. These strengths include the ability to combine exciting performance, sports bike power and refined electronics with the typical cruiser features: a long low and comfortable bike with advanced footpegs and a powerful torque even at low revs, but also top materials and finishes.
CHASSIS
The XDiavel is the first Ducati to use belt final drive. A must in the cruiser world, the system was developed for the XDiavel by Ducati engineers so as to be able to guarantee reliable and safe transmission of the power supplied by the Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262. The advantages of the belt are the low noise level, cleaning, reduced maintenance and fluid response to opening the gas, as befits a real cruiser.
ENGINE
For the entire XDiavel 2021 range, the Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 twin-cylinder engine has an updated silencer layout, with a new design that further enhances the bike's lines and new engine calibration. As a result, the XDiavel delivers a maximum power output of 152 hp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 92.9 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm.
TESTASTRETTA DVT 1262
The undisputed protagonist of the XDiavel is the Testastretta DVT 1262 twin-cylinder engine. The XDiavel delivers a maximum power output of 152 hp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 92.9 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm. The Desmodromic Variable Timing, the variable valve timing with desmodromic timing system, makes it possible to achieve theoretically conflicting objectives: a ready and steady response at low revs (thanks to its powerful torque) and sports bike performance when you fully open the throttle. The Testastretta DVT 1262 is the expression of the best technology and care for design. For instance, the water pump positioned inside the V of the cylinders remains hidden together with the cooling system pipes, thus improving the aesthetics on the left side of the bike
EQUIPMENT
The standard equipment of the XDiavel is extensive and includes: Bosch inertial platform (IMU), ABS Cornering and Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Power Launch, and full-LED lighting system.
TIRES AND WHEELS
The XDiavel features fourteen-spoke rims: 3.5" x 17" at the front and 8" x 17" at the rear. A 120/70 ZR17 tire is fitted at the front, with a redesigned tread pattern to maximize performance in wet conditions. The rear tire instead is 240/45 ZR17. The tires are the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso III. The XDiavel has 14-spoke wheels. At the front the wheel is 3.5" x 17'' has exclusive curved 12-spoke wheels with visible finishing's which highlight the design. On the front wheel is a traditional 120/70 ZR17 tire with a redesigned tread to maximize performance in the wet, while the rear wheel is 240/45 ZR17. The covers are Pirelli Diablo Rosso II. The large rear tire uses double compound technology to increase grip during the most extreme cornering, guaranteeing at the same time high kilometric performance and applying Enhanced Patch Technology to maximize the contact area with any lean angle. The tread design and the compounds used guarantee exceptional performance in all conditions, especially in the wet.
ERGONOMICS
The new XDiavel offers a relaxed riding position, characterized by a low seat and advanced footpegs. There are many possible riding position settings and the extensive catalogue of accessories allow all riders to adapt the bike to their riding style and shape.
