The XR650L is one of the most honest, straightforward motorcycles on the planet--which is why it has such a huge following. Everything about this bike is rugged, simple, and proven: the air-cooled single-cylinder engine, the strong steel frame, the long-travel suspension. Electric starting and street-legal features make it a terrific commuter. We gave it some graphic updates last year that make it look even better (black rims, black seat, tool bag, and fork boots, and white-on-white bodywork). It's a refreshingly straightforward bike in an increasingly complex world. And it's ready for any adventure you have in mind.

FOUR-STROKE ENGINE
The XR650L's four-stroke, single-cylinder engine offers good fuel efficiency and a wide powerband. In addition, its proven powerplant requires very little maintenance.

DISC BRAKES
Front and rear disc brakes provide superior stopping power. Both front and rear disc rotors are drilled for lightness and better wet-weather performance.

ELECTRIC STARTER
Adventure is just the push of a button away. The XR650L's electric starter takes all the drama out of restarting off-road, or getting underway on a cold morning or after the bike's been sitting all week.

QUICK-RELEASE FASTENERS
Accessing the air filter, battery and fuse box is fast and easy, thanks to the quick-release fasteners on the left sidecover. And once the cover is off, the fasteners stay in place, so there are no small parts to lose. Smart!
